With recent growth and new ownership at Energy Dodge, we are in search of a Dealer Principal and General Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the President and Board of Directors, you will be responsible for the following:


Leadership and People Strategy

  • Create an environment where collaborative working relationships can be built to achieve the strategic direction of Energy Dodge and its goals and objectives.
  • Empower the team and create a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Mentor and train employees to create career advancement and internal progression opportunity.
  • Utilize performance metrics and KPIs with the team to ensure sales goals are achieved. 
  • Celebrate team successes to curate a culture of excellence and superior customer service.
  • Engage in monthly and more in-depth bi-annual performance management processes with employees.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders to promote the dealership brand and further improve the reputation of Energy Dodge.
  • Be a brand ambassador of Energy Dodge both internally and externally and be a representative community stakeholder. 


Finance and Operational 

  • Oversee and lead all areas within the dealership including; sales, finance, accounting, parts and service working to enhance the customer-focus. 
  • Work closely with department leads to plan and manage all aspects of business operations.
  • Build, implement and manage all processes, policies and strategies with the aim to meet business goals and objectives and execute on the dealership strategy. 
  • Monitor and analyze business financial performance on an ongoing basis and adjust business operations accordingly.
  • Develop budgets in line with business objectives and manage expenses and inventory.
  • Effectively manage costs to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Utilize KPIs to aid in performance-enhancing and operational decisions.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to create annual business plans with market condition considerations to continually grow the performance and opportunity set.

  • 10+ years of experience within the automotive dealership industry.
  • 5+ years of experience within a Dealer Principal and General Manager role. 
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is considered an asset.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and managing teams within an automotive dealership.
  • Proven competence and knowledge within all areas of retail auto dealerships including; sales, finance, accounting, parts and service.
  • Comprehensive understanding of dealership accounting practices, budgeting and expense management.
  • Experience using automotive software systems.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
